Steve McShane – Owner and General Manager
Steve McShane is Founder, Owner and General Manager of McShane’s Nursery & Landscape Supply. Steve is a Soil Science graduate from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has his MBA from Santa Clara University. In 2008, McShane’s Nursery & Landscape Supply was awarded the Retail Rising Star Award by the American Nursery and Landscape Association. This award recognizes innovation and success in meeting the changing demands of outdoor living and landscape. Steve has been active in Rotary and the boards of Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity and the City of Salinas Police Commission.
He is founder and past chair of the Central Coast Young Farmers and Ranchers. He served as State Chair for the Young Farmers and Ranchers and currently sits on the National Young Farmers and Ranchers Board. Morgan Martinez – Assistant Manager Of Nursery
Morgan Martinez was born and raised in Santa Cruz California. She attended Notre Dame Salinas High School and then mo ved on to the University of the Pacific where she graduated with a B.A in English Literature. She worked for Senator Abel Maldonado where she was his Director of Fundraising. This is her first job in the nursery business, and absolutely loves working at McShane’s. She currently is the Assistant Manager at McShane’s. On her spare time she loves going on jogs with her dog Bubba and being with her family and friends.

Jose Samanez – Assistant Manager Of Landscape Supply
Jose Samanez is a native of Lima Peru and has been living in the United States for the past 7 years. He attend high school and 2 years at the University before coming to the United States in 2002. He attends Hartnell regularly in order to keep his education going and in order to master the English language.He has been at McShane’s for 3 years and has worked his way up to become the assistant manager of landscape supply. He has worked in landscape sales for 10 years.

Anthony Gonzales
Anthony Gonzales was born and raised in the Salinas Valleys town of Gonzales. He went to Gonzales High, then to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he graduated with a degree in Landscape Architecture. He has been in the nursery business for 14 years and has also been designing residential and business landscapes for just as long. He is one of our landscape design consultants. He currently is Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Gonzales High School. On his spare time he loves to mountain bike.

Angie Reynolds
Angie has been a part of the McShane’s Team for almost 4 years. She is a graduate of the Green Gardener program, has attended multiple classes at MPC for gardening and is one of the most knowledgeable team members on fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides. Angie also loves and takes care of the McShane’s Animals, including Stubby and Mama our 2 cats, Triscut and BonBon our 2 guinea pigs and the famous Shamus McShane our parrot. She loves gardening in her spare time; she even works on her days off doing landscape jobs.

Rusty Hammersmith
Rusty is the head of the pond department and is the expert in fountains. Rusty hails from Salinas California, he went to Salinas High and now is attending Hartnell. Here at McShane’s Rusty is known as the “fish whisper” and we are excited and privileged to have him on our staff. In his spare time Rusty is learning how to cook and shares his great food with the McShane’s Team every now and then.
