How To Plant Roses From a Pot To Soil

Dig a planting hole twice as wide and one and a half times the depth of the pot. Mix your soil (from the hole) with an equal amount of Gold Rush. Add 1 1/3 cup Master Start Fertilizer to the soil mix. Backfill the planting hole, about half-way with this blend, firming it as you go to prevent settling of the soil.

Remove the container and open up tangled roots by scoring sides and bottom of rootball, then loosening by hand. Place rose in hole so that top of rootball is level with top of hole. Now continue to backfill the sides of the hole with soil blend. Firm up and use the remaining mixture to make a 3" tall raised ring around the rose. Lastly, water thoroughly inside the ring with a solution of Root Master B-1 to reduce transplant shock.

Before next watering, check soil every 2 to 3 days to a depth of 2 to 3 inches; water only when soil is damp to dry damp. Fill area inside ring slowly with water twice to ensure deep watering.
